Design History:

Alamo is created for speed and manuverability, to act as screening of larger ships. With old Mogadors slowly retiring, Alliance had large gap in its frigate fleet. Alamo was created to be cheap and fielded in larger numbers in much less time. Although its not powerful ship, its crews love it very much for its incredible speed. Its well armored hull (for ship of its size) and strong engines, ensurse hit and run tactics.

Armament and Defenses:

Alamo do not posses large arsenal, its main cannons were two Raytheon Ion cannons and an Gauss cannon, rest of was mostly short to mid range defense guns and 72x missile launchers designed for close combat, allowing Alamo's to deploy large amount of missiles on oponent and get away. Defenses were decent for ship of its size, while armor may not be powerful, ship mostly relay on its shields for survival which have slightly larger capacity then those on other frigates.

Service History:

For the first few years Alamo class was mostly deployed on UEA borders where it act as border patrol ship or anti-piracy ship. Pirates were more then capable to elude old Mogador class frigates, which were well armed and protected but terribly slow. New Alamo class assult frigates were not only well armed and protected, they were fast. Alamo soon become terror on borders, stopping pirate activities, destroying hidden bases even ships which pirates used against Alliance. In Procyon wars and Kalian Incursion, Alamo performed well but still with high losses. It become together with Fury class frigate, main frigates in UEA fleet.
