Anasan class - Combat Support Ship

Description

Anasan class is basically an American Independence class Littoral ship. With no difference in sensor suit or weapons and only difference was addition of four torpedo tubes (two integrated launchers per sides).

Due fact that Bengalorian archipelago was big, with lots of islands, rich oil finds and due fact that relationships between India and Bengalore are slowly decaying, and situation in one hand is not better with China to, who after Bengalore finds large oil reserves, send more and more "so called reaserch ships" in area.

Bengalore needed more naval ships to protect its borders more efficently. While all Bengalorian shipyards were already full with either building new ships or upgrading older ones. New class was to be build outside Bengalore.

In 2013, Bengalore start negotiating with United States for purchase of their new Littoral type of ships. US offer both types the Freedom and Independence, and after two years of  negotiation, Bengalore chose Independence. Originally four ships were to be build in US, however deal was increased to six ships with possibility of two additional units. Bengalorian
Independence were to be built in United States in pairs, having the same equipment and weapons as the those in American service, with additional four torpedo tubes, two on the each side, integrated into the hull.

Construction of first two ships started in 2017, both ships were constructed by the 2019, and in 2020 they were handed to the Bengalorian navy after extensive sea trials. Ships were commissioned few days later after arriving to Benaelle port. Second pair was completed but both ships were on sea trials and were expected to be delivered to BN by the end of the year,  while the third pair is under construction. For the seventh and eight unit there was no information, but there is possibility that these two ships will start with construction somewhere after 2025 and been commissioned by the beginning of 2027.

Despite that some in the Bengalore government believed that this additional ships were simply throwing money away as no matter how many ships or planes Bengalore have, India will still have great advantage, ships were still ordered and commissioned as Bengalore want's to show that it can afford itself new ships and enlarging its military if needed without any economical problems. Anasan class will replace some Ganges in costal duties, allowing those Ganges class ships to patrol in the outer territory as well going on good will missions (visiting other ports of other nations, helping in dissasters...) . This ships were strictly purchased for costal defenses, having less capabilities for anti-ship combat but more against anti-air and anti-submarine operations.

Additional issue was that Bengalore spend large amount of money in development of Lankeshi class frigates, this ships were heavier then Independence class and more armed, but also more expensive. Four ships that will be commissioned were to be elite units, and Ganges and Anasan classes were to provide additional defense to this ships if needed. Lankeshi is also modular like the Inde/Anasan class and can be updated with new technologies easy and also even increase the already formidable arsenal that Lankeshi posses.

Six UH-60 Black were ordered and delivered between 2019-2020 for these ships, two of this have ASW capabilities, while rest were multipurpose variants.

With CSS-01 and CSS-02 entering the service, Bengalore become first nation that use either Independence or Freedom class LCS beside the US. However only two months after commission of first two ships to Bengalore navy, Japanese navy commissioned its first ship heavily based on Independence class. The ship is completley the same with only some weapons system been different.
